A year on, and here we have Mercè decking itself out for Barcelona’s Festa Major or big annual festival. La Mercè returns to fill our streets, parks and squares, from 23 to 28 September. Plan your journey to get to wherever you need by public transport.
Transport recommendations
There will be extra metro services, which will be running non-stop from 5 a.m., 23 September, to midnight, 24 September and from 5 a.m. on 26 September until midnight on 28 September.
We advise using the metro for getting around the city centre and travelling to the events’ areas.
In the event of high passenger numbers, make sure that at all times you follow the instructions given by staff, who will be in contact with the public safety authorities. Public announcements on loudspeakers and illuminated panels will also keep you informed and provide any necessary instructions.

16th Barcelona International Firewoks Festival
On Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th, a new fireworks festival will be held on Barceloneta beach. From 10 pm to 10.20 pm, you can enjoy a spectacle of lights and colours in the night sky.

- Bus: lines D20, H16, V21, V27, 47, 59 and 136.
- Metro: getting off at Ciutadella | Vila Olimpica (L4) station.
Correfoc La Mercè
On Saturday 27 September, the Correfoc de La Mercè is held, with a route along Passeig de Gràcia between Diagonal and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.
You can get there by:
- Bus: lines H8, H10, V15, V17, X1, 6, 7, 22, 24, 33, 34, 39, 47, 67 and 114.
- Metro: getting off at Diagonal (L3 / L5) or Passeig de Gràcia (L2 / L3 / L4) station.
Disruptions to bus service:
- Hours of affectation: from 12.00 to 23.30 hours, approximately.
- Route: along Passeig de Gràcia between Diagonal and Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes.

Inclusive Day at La Mercè
On Sunday 28 September the Inclusive Day will be held, a wide range of adapted sports for everyone.

- Bus: lines H8, H10, V15, V17, X1, 6, 7, 22, 24, 33, 34, 39, 47, 67 and 114.
- Metro: getting off at Diagonal (L3 / L5) or Passeig de Gràcia (L2 / L3 / L4) station.
Disruptions to the bus service:
- There will be disruption between 6.30 am to 4:00 pm approximately.
- Area affected: Passeig de Gràcia between Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes and Plaça de Catalunya.

The La Mercè Parade
The La Mercè Parade takes place on Wednesday, 24 September, at 6 pm, from Carrer de Pelai to Plaça Sant Jaume.

La Mercè 2025: Pyromusical
The La Mercè festivities come to an end, and as is traditional, the Pyromusical will bring the festival to a close. Avinguda Reina Maria Cristina will be packed with spectators enjoying the show.

- Location: Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina.

Some metro stations can be affected along the route due to large number of passengers.
The expected stations to be the busiest are: Urquinaona (L1/L4), Jaume I (L4), Barceloneta (L4) and Drassanes (L3).
Recommendations
It is recommended to use the metro when traveling, as there will be restrictions on surface traffic. However, it is advisable to allow additional time for travel, as in any mass event.
In the event of a large influx of passengers, the instructions of the staff, who will be in contact with the public security authorities, must be followed at all time. The megaphone service and bus and metro light panels will provide information in real time.

Starting on 6 and 7 September, the ‘Obrim Carrers’ initiative will be held on weekends to encourage people to enjoy public spaces and make the city healthier and greener.
Gran de Gràcia
- Date: Saturdays and Sundays.
- Bus routes affected that will either be diverted or operate a limited route: V17, 22, 24, 114 and 116.

From 5 to 8 September, on the occasion of the Santa Coloma de Gramenet 2025 Summer Festival, the neighbourhood will be filled with more than 97 activities for all tastes and audiences, with the significant collaboration of the city's traditional organisations, which will make possible large-scale events such as the inaugural procession, the correfocs (fire runs), the castellera exhibition and the parade of giants and capgrossos (big heads), among others.

Disruptions to metro service and recommended transport
Disruptions on metro L4 and L11
From 25 June to 7 September, both days included, there will be disruptions on L4 and L11 of the Barcelona metro, due to infrastructure improvement works.
The works will be done in two phases:
- Phase I: from 25 June to 31 August, the section of L4 between Verdaguer and Trinitat Nova and the section of L11 between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be out of service.
- Phase II: from 1 up to and including 7 September, the L4 line between Maragall and Trinitat Nova and the L11 line between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be out of service.
The sections of lines L4 and L11 not affected by the improvement works will operate normally.
Phase I
From 25 June to 31 August, no service between Verdaguer (L4), Trinitat Nova (L4/L11) and Casa de l'Aigua (L11) stations.

People with disabilities and reduced mobility
From 25 June to 31 August there will also be an exclusive bus service for people with disabilities and reduced mobility between Girona and Verdaguer stations.
