Bus
On December 24th, Christmas Eve, TMB buses make their final departure from their origin at 10 pm.
Metro
- Christmas Eve: the metro service operates until midnight.
- Christmas day: on 25th of December, the metro service ends at 2 am.
- Sant Esteve's day: on 26th of December, the metro service ends at 2 am.
- New Year's Eve:on 31th of December, continuous service throughout Saturday to Sunday night.
- New Year's Day:on 1st of January, the metro service operates until midnight.
- Three King's Eve: on 5th January, the metro service ends at 2 am.
- Three King's Day: on 6th January, the metro service operates until midnight.
Other modes of transport
- Montjuïc Cable Car :
- From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
- On December 25, January 1 and 6, the hours are from 10.00 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.
- Barcelona Bus Turístic:
- From 9 am to 6 pm. Services start running at the majority of stops between 9 am and 9.30 am and final departures are at 7 pm. Buses run daily, except on 1 January and 25 December.
- Barcelona Christmas Tour:
- Monday to Sunday with departure times between 6pm and 8.30pm, from 28 November to 4 January (except 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January).

Starting on 6 and 7 September, the ‘Obrim Carrers’ initiative will be held on weekends to encourage people to enjoy public spaces and make the city healthier and greener.
Gran de Gràcia
- Date: Saturdays and Sundays.
- Bus routes affected that will either be diverted or operate a limited route: V17, 22, 24, 114 and 116.
- Lines V17, 22 and 24: in the mountain direction, from Plaça del Cinc d'Oros, take the av. Diagonal, the via Augusta, the av. from the Riera de Cassoles to the square of Lesseps.

Barcelona’s Christmas festival in Plaça de Catalunya
Between December 20th and 30th, the Plaça de Catalunya will transform into a meeting point for performing arts, offering a program that includes music, theater, dance, and street circus. With proposals from the local, national, and international scenes, the festival presents performances designed for all audiences, in the morning, afternoon, and evening, over the course of eleven days.

One more year, the Christmas fairs and markets are back in the neighborhoods and municipalities of Barcelona. We take you there with metro and bus.
Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) has planned a reinforcement of the metro service on Saturdays, Sundays and inter-week holidays in December with stores open to facilitate mobility. Bus lines are also reinforced in the city center and other commercial hubs on public holidays when shops are allowed to open their doors.

Christmas Fair in Sant Jaume
The long-awaited celebration is here, drawing on traditional imagery but with a fresh new twist. This year, in our square, the stars and the cosmos embrace us in a warm return of light to the city. A living projection that also transforms chromatically on the most special dates of Christmas, on the nights of 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 and 5 January. A celebration open to everyone in a square that becomes an immersive open-air experience.
The schedule from Monday to Thursday will be from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, holidays and the eve of holidays from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. On 25 December, 31 December and 5 January from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Christmas Fair on Passeig de Gràcia
The Paseo de Gracia Association is once again organising Christmas activities that will fill the iconic avenue with life and light on Fridays and Saturdays 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 December. During these days, Passeig de Gràcia will become a large open-air stage with travelling performances by Seis Arcos, Traps, Lux Equorum, Insólitos, Brodas Bros and La Esfera Itinerante.
Fusing theatre, music, dance and visual art, Passeig de Gràcia will be transformed into a veritable artistic and festive promenade. Every weekend, the various travelling shows will surprise audiences with their creativity and energy, offering unique experiences for all ages.

Natalis: Christmas in Poble Espanyol
From 29 November to 4 January, Poble Espanyol becomes one of the most magical destinations for celebrating Christmas in Barcelona.
Immerse yourself in Natalis, six magical worlds that transform the village into a Christmas fantasy setting. You can enjoy fixed and travelling performances and shows that will fill the venue with music, fun, games and activities for all ages, workshops that will stimulate creativity and the Christmas spirit, and decorations throughout the village that will surprise young and old alike.

Sant Tomàs and Three Kings Fair at Gran Via
The fair will be open between 18 December and 6 January and will occupy the section of Gran Via between Muntaner and Rocafort streets.
The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., except on Saturdays and the eve of public holidays, when it will close at 10 p.m., on the side platforms of Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes between Muntaner and Rocafort streets.

Responsible Consumption and Social Solidarity Economy Fair
From 19 to 30 December, the Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair will be held in Plaça de Catalunya, where you will find quality, locally sourced products made under conditions that respect people and the environment.
The Responsible Consumption and Social and Solidarity Economy Fair is open in the southern section of Plaça de Catalunya (facing Rambla de Canaletes and Carrer Portal de l'Àngel) from Friday 19 to Tuesday 30 December, from 11 am to 8.30 pm, with the following exceptions. The Fair is not open on Christmas Day or St Stephen's Day, and on Wednesday 24th it will close at 6 pm.

From 17 December to 5 January, the 7th Christmas and Three Kings Fair will be held in the Rambla de Sants Gardens, filling the elevated walkway with craft stalls, gifts, food and decorations.

From 11 to 14 December, the best padel in the world returns to Barcelona, more specifically at the Palau Sant Jordi.
The Premier Padel Finals offers padel fans the chance to witness the culmination of an exciting season, with the best pairings in the men's and women's competition battling it out to be crowned champions at the final tournament in 2025.

- Bus: lines 13, 23 (only runs on weekdays), 55, 125 and 150 (Pl. Espanya - Castell de Montjuïc). There will be a special bus service from Plaza de Espanya to the Palau. After the event, a special bus will run between the enclosure and Plaça d'Espanya.

From November 28th to January 6th, the Moll de la Fusta will be the setting for a new edition of “Nadal al Port”. This year, there will be a new feature: free baptisms on sailboats and night tours on a themed Golondrina boat. As usual, the venue will host a market with a variety of food options, attractions for children, and a program of activities organized by organizations and music schools from the neighborhoods surrounding the Port of Barcelona.

On 30th November, the 102nd edition of the Allianz Jean Bouin race will be held, with two circuits, one of 5 km and the other of 10 km.
There will be serious disruption to the bus service in connection with the race.

The 5 and 10 km races start on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina and pass through Plaça d'Espanya, Avinguda del Paral-lel, Carrer Floridablanca and Carrer d'Entença, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Sant Joan, Carrer d'Ausiàs Marc and Carrer del Bruc, Ronda de Sant Pere, Passeig de Sant Joan, and then Passeig de Lluís Companys, where the 5 km race finishes, and the 10 km race continues along Carrer de Buenaventura Muñoz, Carrer de Roger de Flor, Passeig de Pujades, Passeig de Picasso, Avinguda del Marquès de l'Argentera, Pla de Palau, Passeig d'Isabel II, Passeig de Colom, Plaça del Portal de la Pau, Passeig de Josep Carner, Plaça de les Drassanes, Avinguda del Paral-lel, Carrer de Calabria and Carrer de Tamarit, Avinguda del Paral-lel, Plaça d'Espanya and the 10 km race finishes at Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina.
Disruptions to the bus service
On Sunday 30th November, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., approximately, more than thirty bus lines in Barcelona will be affected.
Lines affected whose routes will be diverted or limited: D20, D50, H12, H14, H16, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, X2, X3, 7, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 39, 46, 47, 54, 55, 59, 63, 65, 67, 120, 121, 141, 150 and Barcelona Bus turístic (red and blue route).
- Due to the assembly of installations, the following lines will also be affected from 9 a.m. on Saturday 29th November on Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina: 13, 150 and Barcelona Bus turístic (red route).
- Due to the assembly of installations, the following lines will also be affected from the start of the service on Sunday 30th November on Passeig de Lluís Companys: H16, V17 and V19.
Transport recommendations
Due to the magnitude of the impact, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., we recommend the use of the metro to travel around the race route.
To get to the start and finish line of the various races, you can get off at Espanya station (L1/L3).
To get to the finish line of the 5 km race, on Passeig de Lluís Companys, you can get off at Arc de Triomf station (L1).

També de les 0.00 hores a les 2.00 hores del dissabte 6 de desembre l'L2 funcionarà des de Paral·lel fins a Sagrada Família, quedarà sense servei el tram comprès entre Sagrada Família i Badalona Pompeu Fabra. Com a alternativa de transport es poden utilitzar les línies N8 i N9 de Nitbus.

Metro Disruptions to metro service and recommended transport
Disruptions on metro L4
From 6 December until the end of service on 8 December 2025, the section of L4 between La Pau and Passeig de Gràcia will be out of service due to infrastructure improvement works.
The line will operate normally from Passeig de Gràcia to Trinitat Nova. On Monday 8 December, from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m., the section between Passeig de Gràcia and Verdaguer will also be out of service. During this time, the line will operate normally from Verdaguer to Trinitat Nova.

Shuttle bus service
There will be a shuttle bus service between La Pau and Passeig de Gràcia, which will stop at the stations on the affected section at the same times as the metro, with buses running every 5 minutes. You do not need to validate your ticket to use the shuttle bus service.

Alternative transport options
The following alternatives are available for travelling around the affected area:
Metro
- Line L2* between La Pau and Passeig de Gràcia.
- Line L1 at Clot, Glòries, Marina and Urquinaona stations.
* Due to improvement works, the platform at Clot station in the direction of Badalona Pompeu Fabra will be out of service from the start of service on Saturday 6 December until the end of service on Monday 8 December.
Also, from midnight to 2 a.m. on Saturday 6 December, L2 will run from Paral·lel to Sagrada Família, with no service on the section between Sagrada Família and Badalona Pompeu Fabra. As an alternative means of transport, you can use Nitbus lines N8 and N9.
Bus
- Line H14 between Besòs Mar and Barceloneta stations.
- Line H16 between El Maresme | Fòrum and Ciutadella | Vila Olímpica stations.
- Line V15 between Barceloneta and Passeig de Gràcia stations.

Due to works on Carrer de Vila i Vilà, the Montjuïc funicular will be out of service from Monday 20 October for approximately 5 months.
Recommended transport to Montjuïc
You can get up Montjuïc by the following means:
- Metro L2 and L3 to Paral·lel. There, take the special bus which runs on the Funicular route with the same operating hours (Monday to Friday, from 7.30 am to 9.00 pm and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm).
- Metro L1 and L3 to Espanya. From there take the number 150 bus (Pl. Espanya - Castell de Montjuïc).
