Reading DDTag codes

DDTags are optical codes that contain information (similar to QR codes). Their advantage is that they can be read from a greater distance and at different angles.

DDTags are a technology developed by Neosistec, used to guide visually impaired people through the Navilens app. In addition to navigation, this technology can provide valuable contextual information, which is why Navilens is used not only in public transport but also in other sectors such as museums, product packaging, and more.

The TMB App uses DDTag codes placed in Metro stations and TMB bus stops to help you more easily find information about stops and stations (metro and bus waiting times, services, schedules, access points, etc.).
You should know that code reading is generally fast, but on iPhone devices it tends to be faster than on Android devices 

On the home screen, you can access the DDTag reader via the color code icon located on the right side of the screen. When you open it, simply point your camera at the code to read it.

You can also use DDTag scanning in the TMB App’s search tools to find a station or stop, or to set it as the start or end point of a planned journey. Just click in the search field and choose the DDTag reading method from the options shown below.

No. The TMB App uses these codes specifically to quickly locate TMB stations and stops. If you scan a code that doesn’t correspond to a TMB location, the app won’t return any results.
 

The TMB App uses the codes to speed up the search for stations and stops—it doesn’t read the actual content of the code. That’s why all codes located in the same Metro station will always take you to that station’s screen.
