On 19 March, the Zurich Barcelona Marathon will be held, with one of the most spectacular routes in the world and an all-urban circuit running through the heart of the city.

The race starts and finishes at Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina and passes through Plaça d’Espanya, Carrer de la Creu Coberta, Carrer de Sants, Carrer de la Riera Blanca, Travessera de les Corts, Plaça del Doctor Ignasi Barraquer, Avinguda de Sarrià, Carrer de París, Carrer de Berlín, Carrer de Numància, Carrer de Tarragona, Carrer de la Diputació, Carrer de Vilamarí, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Passeig de Gràcia, Carrer d’Aragó, Carrer d’Aribau, Carrer de Mallorca and Avinguda Meridiana. Here, runners will go as far as Passeig de Santa Coloma and then return down Avinguda Meridiana, continuing to Carrer de València, Carrer de Huelva, Carrer de Bac de Roda, Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes, Rambla de Prim, Plaça de Llevant and Avinguda Diagonal. Here, runners will go as far as Carrer de la Ciutat de Granada, come back down Avinguda Diagonal and turn onto Passeig del Taulat, before continuing to Carrer de Josep Pla, Passeig de Garcia Fària, Carrer del Litoral, Avinguda del Litoral, Carrer de l’Arquitecte Sert, Carrer de Salvador Espriu, Plaça dels Voluntaris Olímpics, Carrer de la Marina, Passeig de Pujades and Passeig de Lluís Companys, Ronda de Sant Pere, Plaça d'Urquinaona and Plaça de Catalunya, Carrer de Fontanella, Via Laietana, Carrer de Colom, Plaça del Portal de la Pau, Passeig de Josep Carner, Plaça de les Drassanes, Avinguda del Paral·lel, Ronda de Sant Pau, Carrer del Comte d'Urgell, Carrer de Sepúlveda and Avinguda del Paral·lel.
Disruptions to the bus service
On Sunday 19 March, between around 6.30 am and 3 pm more than 50 bus routes in Barcelona will be affected.
Lines affected whose routes will be diverted or limited: D20, D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, H12, H14, H16, V1, V3, V5, V7, V9, V11, V13, V15, V17, V19, V21, V23, V25, V27, V29, V31, 6, 7, 11, 13, 19, 21, 22, 24, 27, 33, 34, 39, 46, 47, 54, 55, 59, 62, 63, 65, 67, 78, 79, 96, 97, 104, 109, 115, 120, 121, 122, 126, 133, 136, 141, 150, 157, 192 and Barcelona Bus turístic (red and blue route).
Transport recommendations
Due to the extent of the disruption, between 6.30 am and 3 pm, we recommend using the metro for journeys that cross the race route.

Other Barcelona Zurich Marathon events.
- • On Saturday 18 March at 9.30 am, the Breakfast Run will take place over a 4-km circuit, starting out and finishing at Plaça Joan Puig i Cadafalch, running through the main parks, streets around Montjuïc mountain and the Olympic Ring.
- • On Saturday, between 10 am and 1 pm, kids will be Barcelona Zurich Marathon stars too, with a 200 to 1,000 metre circuit setting out from the emblematic marathon starting line
