Disruptions to metro service and recommended transport

Disruptions on metro L4 and L11

From 25 June to 7 September, both days included, there will be disruptions on L4 and L11 of the Barcelona metro, due to infrastructure improvement works.

The works will be done in two phases:

  • Phase I: from 25 June to 31 August, the section of L4 between Verdaguer and Trinitat Nova and the section of L11 between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be out of service.


 

  • Phase II: from 1 up to and including 7 September, the L4 line between Maragall and Trinitat Nova and the L11 line between Trinitat Nova and Casa de l'Aigua will be out of service.


 

 

 

The sections of lines L4 and L11 not affected by the improvement works will operate normally.

Phase I

From 25 June to 31 August, no service between Verdaguer (L4), Trinitat Nova (L4/L11) and Casa de l'Aigua (L11) stations.

Shuttle bus service

There will be a shuttle bus service between Verdaguer and Casa de l'Aigua, which will run along the affected section with the same metro timetable.

The last shuttle bus from Casa de l'Aigua in the direction of Verdaguer will leave at 11.14 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 1.14 a.m. on Fridays and the eve of public holidays.

The last shuttle bus from Verdaguer in the direction of Casa de l'Aigua will depart at 0.32 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 2.32 a.m. on Fridays and the eve of public holidays.

You do not need to validate your ticket to use the shuttle bus service.

Timetable of the shuttle bus service between Verdaguer - Casa de l'Aigua:

  • Weekdays:
    • July: 4 minutes at rush hour, between 5 - 8 minutes the rest of the service.
    • August: 5 minutes at rush hour, between 6 - 9 minutes the rest of the service.
  • Saturdays:
    • July: 4 - 7 minutes at peak time, between 9 - 11 minutes the rest of the service.
    • August: 5 - 8 minutes at peak time, between 9 - 11 minutes the rest of the service.
  • Sundays and public holidays:
    • July: 4 - 7 minutes at peak time, 9 minutes for the rest of the service.
    • August: 5 - 8 minutes at peak time, 9 minutes the rest of the service.

Other transport alternatives

  • To get around the affected section, you can use the Barcelona metro L3 to connect from Passeig de Gràcia to Trinitat Nova.
  • You can also get to the Torre Baró-Vallbona area by taking L5 at Verdaguer to La Sagrera station and then using the R3 or R4 Rodalies de Catalunya.

People with disabilities and reduced mobility

From 25 June to 31 August there will also be an exclusive bus service for people with disabilities and reduced mobility between Girona and Verdaguer stations.

The last shuttle bus from Girona in the direction of Verdaguer will depart at 0.19 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 2.19 a.m. on Sundays and the eve of public holidays.

The last shuttle bus from Verdaguer in the direction of Girona will depart at 11.30 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 1.30 a.m. on Sundays and the eve of public holidays.

Phase II

From 1 up to and including 7 September, no service between Maragall (L4), Trinitat Nova (L4/L11) and Casa de l'Aigua (L11) stations.

The last shuttle bus from Maragall in the direction of Casa de l'Aigua will depart at 0.35 a.m. from Sunday to Thursday and at 2.35 a.m. on Fridays and the eve of public holidays.

You do not need to validate your ticket to use the shuttle bus service.

  • Weekdays: 4 minutes at rush hour, between 6 - 8 minutes the rest of the service.
  • Saturday: 5 - 7 minutes at rush hour, between 8 - 10 minutes the rest of the service.
  • Sunday: 5 - 7 minutes at peak time, between 8 - 10 minutes the rest of the service.

Other transport alternatives

  • To get around the affected section, you can use the Barcelona metro L3 to connect from Passeig de Gràcia to Trinitat Nova.
  • You can get to the Torre Baró-Vallbona area by taking L5 from Maragall to La Sagrera and then using the R3 or R4 of Rodalies de Catalunya.
  • To get to the stations on the section affected between Maragall and Casa de l'Aigua, you can use bus line D50, which follows a similar route. You can also use line D40 and connect with lines H2 and 76 in the Llucmajor interchange area.
