Service disruption on L4

Here are the full details of the service disruption between La Pau and Passeig de Gràcia stations on metro line L4.

What are the service impacts?

  • From 6 to 8 December, inclusive, service will be suspended between La Pau and Passeig de Gràcia on route L4. As a result, route L4 will only be available between Passeig de Gràcia and Trinitat Nova.
  • In addition, on Monday 8 December, between 5 am and 8 am, the section without service will be between La Pau and Verdaguer, and the section in service will be between Verdaguer and Trinitat Nova.

Why is this service suspension necessary?

The closure is required to bring a new signalling interlocking system into service at Barceloneta and a new track device at Urquinaona, as part of the L4 signalling renewal project. This upgrade will improve train frequency and help reduce future disruptions.

Transport alternatives

  • A special bus service will operate, stopping at locations near each station.
