European Mobility Week
Coinciding with this event, and during the autumn, we open different areas of the metro network to the public and showcase them to the citizens.
When: 16.09.2025 to 22.09.2025
Where: Barcelona Metro
Access: Depending on activity
The European Mobility Week will take place this year from 16 to 22 September under the slogan “Mix and move”, an invitation to make combined use of the different modes of transport, highlighting the possible combination of journeys by public transport, bicycle, on foot and other sustainable solutions. This annual initiative promoted by the Government of Catalonia aims to foster healthier, safer and more sustainable mobility habits, under a mobility model designed for everyone.
Throughout the Week, activities will be held in many municipalities and in Barcelona’s districts. One of the most notable activities is the open days organised by transport operators. Among them, Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona will open several metro spaces and facilities to the public, to mark the centenary of the Barcelona underground. The visits will start during the European Mobility Week, but it will also be possible to take part in these open days (with prior booking) in October and November, depending on the spaces.
An activity has also been scheduled at the Horta bus depot, consisting of a bus ride and a visit to the workshop.
