On the occasion of the Grand Départ of the Tour de France in Barcelona, the city will experience exceptional days that will attract thousands of visitors and generate high levels of activity in the streets. To ensure mobility for both residents and visitors during this unique event, a special reinforcement of public transport has been prepared. These measures respond to the need to guarantee safety and the proper running of the events associated with the Tour.
The different competition events and celebrations will take place on July 2, 4 and 5. During these days, the metro service will be intensified with up to 40% more trains compared to the usual service during key event hours, with a particularly significant reinforcement on lines 1 and 5. This service increase aims to facilitate mobility across the city.
TMB recommends prioritizing the use of the metro during event times, especially during peak moments such as the team presentation on the 2nd and the official departures over the weekend.
TMB, as the main public transport operator in Barcelona and its metropolitan area, works to manage the impact that an event of this magnitude may have on the transport network. In addition, it is actively involved in the events, maintaining a visible presence and collaborating at both logistical and brand levels.
