The TMB App adds the possibility of buying tickets online to its features.
Buy some of your tickets through the TMB App. Download the app and you will be able to purchase the ticket or travel card you need.

What are the advantages of buying through the TMB App?
Buying tickets and travel cards through the TMB App allows you to:
- Obtain full invoices easily and immediately.
- Buy travel cards on behalf of other people without having to give them cash or credit card details. You simply send them a purchase confirmation email with the collection code (voucher). Keep the collection code (voucher) safe as it is the number the ticket machines use to issue the ticket.
- Earn points for the JoTMBé Points Program and go up a level.
Let us explain how it works:
1. Sign up for JoTMBé
To be able to buy your tickets using the application you must sign up for JoTMBé. You can do so directly via the application or through the website. After registering you can take advantage of a host of benefits as well as being able to make purchases. It's quick and easy!
2. Choose the option to buy tickets on the app
Once registered, you can gain access to online purchasing via the app. There you will find a list of the tickets and travel passes available. Select a ticket or travel pass and start the purchase process. You can buy a maximum of five identical tickets (in terms of ticket type and number of zones). If you need different types of ticket you will have to make separate purchases for each type.
With the TMB App you can also buy personalized travel passes. In this case you can only purchase them one by one; for each transaction you will need to introduce the digits (numbers only) of the relevant DNI/NIE/passport.
You can pay with VISA, Mastercard and American Express.
Select the option to save your personal data so that you don’t have to enter them again for future purchases. The app will also keep a record of your purchase history.
3. Keep your collection code
Once the purchase process is completed you will receive a collection code (voucher) via the app screen. You will also receive a confirmation email with your purchase and voucher code.
4. Collect your ticket
You can print and collect your ticket from the metro network's ticket machines up until the next fare change.
Select the ‘collect tickets’ option on the screen of the machine, enter your collection code (voucher) and remove your ticket once it has printed out.
It is not possible to collect single metro and T-10 tickets from the ticket machines in airport stations Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 as they are no valid for use from those stations.
5. Request an invoice for the ticket purchased
The TMB App issues a simplified invoice for all tickets and travel passes purchased through this channel. Additionally, it is very easy to request a full invoice, either at the time of purchase or later on (up to the time limit set by current legislation) and so long as you maintain the same email (user) address to log in to the TMB App.
When you request a full invoice, the TMB App will offer you the chance to save your personal information for future purchases and invoices. You can also change these details for a specific purchase if you want it to be billed to another person or company.
6. Cancelling the purchase
The TMB App allows you to request the refund of the purchase and to cancel the collection code (voucher) at the click of a button. If you make a mistake with the ticket type, zones, information entered or simply no longer need the ticket, you simply have to select “Request refund” from the menu of the specific ticket purchased.
If the refund request has been submitted correctly, you will see the relevant information on screen and you will receive a refund confirmation email. Once you have requested a refund on a purchase, the collection code (voucher) will be cancelled and cannot be redeemed at any ticket issuing machine. The amount you have paid will be credited within a period of 2-3 weeks (according to the bank involved, whether it is an international transaction, etc.)
You can request a refund so long as you have not collected the ticket or travel card and that the request is made within a maximum period of 119 days from the day after the purchase.
