Disruption and recommended transport
Disruption and recommended transport
A year on, and here we have Mercè decking itself out for Barcelona’s Festa Major or big annual festival. La Mercè returns to fill our streets, parks and squares, from 23 to 28 September. Plan your journey to get to wherever you need by public transport.
Transport recommendations
There will be extra metro services, which will be running non-stop from 5 a.m., 23 September, to midnight, 24 September and from 5 a.m. on 26 September until midnight on 28 September.
We advise using the metro for getting around the city centre and travelling to the events’ areas.
In the event of high passenger numbers, make sure that at all times you follow the instructions given by staff, who will be in contact with the public safety authorities. Public announcements on loudspeakers and illuminated panels will also keep you informed and provide any necessary instructions.
Bus service will be increased on the 23rd, 24th, 26th, 27th and 28th, with more buses running during the main events and more frequent service at events expected to draw large crowds, such as those held at Espigó del Gas, Bogatell Beach, Port Olímpic and Parc del Fòrum.
