Ischial seats and armrests in metro waiting areas
At TMB, we work continuously to identify proposals that help improve metro facilities and waiting areas, adding value for users and promoting more sustainable, inclusive, efficient and accessible environments.
The ischial seats and armrests are support elements that provide brief and ergonomic rest while waiting. To manufacture the ischial seats, bars and panels from decommissioned buses of the 3300 and 3400 series have been reused. As for the armrests, they were developed through a co-creation process between TMB and the Elisava School of Design and Engineering, and they have also been produced using materials recovered from bus vehicles.
These elements have now been installed in various waiting areas at the Punts TMB, offering greater comfort to users during short breaks.
This equipment originates from a previous project that made it possible to incorporate this improvement into the metro facilities.
