When travelling by metro, do so safely

We ensure your safety, but you should also avoid actions that could endanger your well-being and the proper functioning of the service.

Never go down to the tracks

Never go down onto the tracks. Under no circumstances should you do so.

  • If you need to reach the opposite platform, use the stairs or lifts.
  • If you have dropped an item onto the tracks, use the SOS intercom on the platform and we will help you retrieve it as soon as possible.
  • Please act responsibly and respect the facilities.

The tracks are not a shortcut. Going onto the tracks can be fatal.

Do not board the train when the doors are closing

Once the door-closing warning is activated, you must not enter or exit the train.

  • If you arrive at the platform and the train’s door-closing warning (audible and visual) has been activated, you must respect it and wait for the next train.

Once the audible and visual warning has started, boarding is no longer permitted.

  • If you are already on board and realise too late that this is your stop, wait until the next station. Once there, you can get off and travel back to your intended destination.

Once the audible and visual warning has started, alighting is no longer permitted.

  • Never attempt to force the train doors open. You could become trapped and suffer a very serious accident.

If you feel unwell on the metro, ask for help

Whether you are on the platform or on board the train, use the SOS intercom. The metro network is equipped with 2,300 intercoms located throughout station platforms and concourses.

  • If you start feeling unwell, leave the train if possible and request assistance using the SOS intercom on the platform, or ask someone nearby to do so on your behalf.
  • If symptoms appear before boarding the train, remain on the platform and press the SOS button on the intercom.
  • If you suspect that someone is experiencing cardiac arrest, locate the defibrillator on the platform and follow the instructions provided. The entire metro network is equipped with defibrillators and is cardioprotected.
