Public procurement of innovation
TMB is the main public transport operator of Barcelona and its metropolitan area . Thousands of citizens make daily use of our services. Apart from operating the main bus and metro networks in the city and its metropolitan area, TMB also offers various transport services for the visiting public: two urban lines and an intercity line of tourist buses that offer different routes as well as a cable car.
Our main mission is to offer integrated mobility services which:
- Contribute to the improvement of citizen mobility and to sustainable development.
- Guarantee the provision of an excellent service to the general public.
- Strengthen equal opportunities and social responsibility policies.
- Make efficient use of public resources.
For this reason, we are constantly working on developing innovative solutions that enable us to improve our services, such as ensuring better accessibility to our transport and improving the user experience, setting various challenges which we transfer to the market.
Why do we open this phase of preliminary consultation?
In view of the various needs detected by different areas of the company, we have analysed the most cutting-edge technologies offered by the market without finding any efficient enough to meet the solutions we seek for our projects. We therefore have to launch this public innovation procurement process consisting of two challenges.
The aim of these two preliminary market consultations that we are launching within the framework of the TMBinnova project, is to find the most innovative systems in the field of transport at the service of people. We are focusing on universal accessibility and the provision of new innovative user information channels that could be incorporated into TMB.
This call is open and is aimed at both public and private legal entities and physical persons. Each one may present one or more solutions, either individually or jointly with other natural or legal persons.
