Cleaning and disinfection of our transport system
Our cleaning staff have doubled their efforts on the metro and buses.
TMB is applying special infection prevention measures, including daily cleaning and disinfection of all buses.
On the bus, disinfection is carried out using ozone, a shock treatment that in a short space of time eliminates all types of pollutants in the air, such as bacteria, viruses and fungi. It is used for environmental hygiene and odour elimination.
Ozone disinfection has been added to the nightly cleaning tasks of the buses, which includes daily vacuuming and rubbish collection, as well as fuel supply.
As for the metro, passenger areas are disinfected daily with water, detergent and bleach or other equivalent products, in particular all elements that can be touched by hands.
Generally speaking, all areas of public or shared use (train and station seats, handrails, railings) and all operating devices such as door handles, push buttons, lift buttons, ticket validators and ticket machines, are also cleaned.
Starting in July and also on the metro network, an innovative pilot test of intelligent ventilation regulation is being carried out to improve the quality of the environment, hygiene and passenger comfort at the stations. The system consists of an artificial intelligence platform capable of improving the thermal sensation of passengers and metro workers based on the definition of different criteria and by the real time reading of variables such as temperature, humidity, indoor air quality in stations and electricity consumption.
This system is effective in preventing infection.
In the Covid-19 section you will find all the information about the new normality on public transport.
