Validation with bank card
When you get on the bus through the first door, you will find a reader in front of the cab. It is the contactless bank card reader that allows you to buy and validate the single bus ticket in a single step, just by approaching the card.
At the moment, you will find it on lines:
- D20, D40, D50, H6, H8, H10, H12, H14, V5, V7, V9, V11, V13, V15, V19, X1,
- 7, 13, 21, 23, 27, 33, 39, 52, 55, 59, 63, 65, 67, 68, 70, 78, 79, 91, 94, 95,
- 107, 109, 110, 115, 125, 136, 141, 150, 157, 165 and 175.
Card reading buys and validates a single ticket for a particular bus. The bank card reader accepts Visa, Mastercard and American Express credit cards in any format (card, mobile or watch). If you are travelling with more people who also need a single ticket, you will need to hold the card close to the reader as many times as there are people.
The bank card reader emits a short sound on one note to indicate that the purchase and validation are correct. It also displays a message on the screen. If there has been any incident in the reading, the sound is on two notes.
If the payment card is not valid, you will need to use another one or purchase your single bus tickets via TMB App and validate it with the bus QR code. If the reading was incorrect, you will need to pass the card, mobile or watch back over the reader.
This purchase and validation system is completely digital. This means that the machine does not issue any physical tickets. If you have used this purchase and validation system and ticket inspectors board the bus, all you have to do is give them the last four digits of the card you used to pay. This provides proof that single tickets have actually been purchased on this bus with this card.
