Management and operation of urban transport service for the Perpignan metropolitan area
TMB, along with Vectalia, which owns the current operator, CFT (Corporation Française de Transport), will take over the operation of urban transport in the Perpignan metropolitan area for the next eight years.
TMB's contribution to the group awarded the contract is primarily its experience as an operator of a large intermodal transport network, knowledge which it will transfer to the CFT operating company, particularly in the following specific areas:
- Analysis and definition of the infrastructures necessary—stops, traffic signal priority, accessibility—to operate a transport network.
- Analysis and definition of the needs of the mobile material and the workshops to maintain it.
- Definition of the basic elements of operation, high-level service lines, operations personnel training content, selection, etc.
- Definition and development of policies involving marketing, traveller information and communication, surveys at origin/destination, analysis and application of data, etc.
This is the first time that TMB will participate in the operation of a public transport network outside Spain. Until now, the international activity of the company has been focused on consultancy.
