Historical and cultural heritage

Historical and cultural heritage is a window into the history of Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona.

We wish to explain our objectives and offer you a description of the activities we develop in this respect. To provide support in these efforts, we have an advisory board.

Take a stroll through the virtual museum and see how Barcelona has changed through its public transport. Testimony to the passing times is our historical and documentary archive, containing historical TMB objects and vehicles.

Beyond mere conservation and restoration of our historical and cultural heritage, the TMB Foundation helps make our past more visible, with a present and future dedicated to fostering change towards a true culture of mobility.

Virtual museum

The history of public transport in Barcelona started in 1872, with the first tram line. This is also where our virtual museum starts, to then take us through the ages. (Section under construction)

Heritage collection

This contains mobile material and a series of inventoried objects that TMB has conserved and recovered over the years.
